Who are we?
YAY Mates is an informal group of artists and their friends from East London (based in Havering) that is welcoming of members from here and outside of the area - with a mission is to create a connection point for artists and to create projects together to improve our local cultural landscape and harness more opportunities together. The YAY Mates organising team is made up of three collaborative art organisations based in Havering, Bluerskies Creatives, aBrennan & Burch, and The NO Collective.
What we do?
YAY Mates as a network comes together in regular social networking events in Havering. One Wednesday a month we hold a network meeting and social occasion for artists and their mates, where we hold a range of activities - from guest speakers to art 'crit' sessions to fun collaborative drawing workshops. In between these meetings we also support network exhibition trips, co-curated exhibitions, social enterprise events and wider creative opportunities.
Do you have a burning question or problem that you would like to discuss with other artists?
During our monthly YAYmates meet-ups we will answer the questions that you may be too embaressed to ask. Whether it is is about 'legal stuff' or the best insurance to buy to "what colours are the best to use for mural design?" - If we dont know the answer ourselves. We will find someone who does!

About Us
The YAY Mates team is currently made up of three collaborative art organisations based in Havering, Bluerskies Creatives, a holistic contemporary artist duo focusing on mindfulness and organic creation; Brennan & Burch, an edgy urban illustration company that creates commercial design and products and The NO Collective, a pedagogic network of artists who create opportunities for young creatives in the UK and abroad.

YAY Mates is an informal group of artists and thier friends from East London (based in Havering) we are very welcoming of members from here and outside of the area.
We are a social bunch of people looking for conversation and collaboration rather than fees and competition!
We arrange regular meetups and in between projects and activities, and do our best to keep it cheap and cheerful.
Who Are You?
We are looking for social artists to join our network. Those artists that want to make change. Those thinkers that can magnify ideas through multiple conversations. Those creatives that just DO because they know how to, or want to DO more and are eager to learn how !
Basically we want YOU AND YOUR MATES!
